Vineyard Notes
2023 was a unique vintage. We started the season late as a cool spring led to delayed bud break and flowering. The early season was several weeks behind and it looked like it might be a challenging vintage. Lucky for us the summer quickly warmed up and provided us with our second warmest season on record. The steady heat allowed us to catch up and start harvest in early September. The white wines had great flavors, ample acidity and perfect ripeness.
Winemaker Notes
Albariño has always been one of my favorite wines to make from the Coyote Canyon Vineyard. Grown in one of the warmer sites of the Horse Heaven Hills AVA, the flavors have a nice combination of tropical and citrus flavors.
This is a Stainless Steel fermented Albarino comes from a combination of our 2006 plantings, the first in WA state, and our 2011 block. The grapes were machined harvested in mid September and fermented in a Stainless Steel tank and bottled in February 2024.
