2023 CCW Albarino Concrete Fermented
Aromas of melon, starfruit, mild citrus and minerality, whatever that smells like, its more of a sensation. The flavors start off with mellow notes of orange peel, grapefruit, citrus and lemon flavors. Medium bodied with a nice long finish.

Tasting Notes
This beautiful twist on the classically bright and fruity flavors of Coyote Canyon Albariño. The concrete smooths out the acidity, adds a rich minerality. Citrus and stone fruit flavors and aromas lead to a long vibrant finish.

Vineyard Notes
2022 was another epic vintage in WA state. One of the wettest springs on record had early shoot growth booming. A funny thing happened at that point, it stayed cool. The cooler weather pushed back bud break and flowering, eventually pushing harvest back one to three weeks. The heat finally started to show up at the end of June, maybe even too much heat, when it is over 100 degrees the grapes start to shut down. We started picking in mid September and finished at the end of October. The compressed harvest had some challenges but in the end we are enthusiastic about what is to come.
Winemaker Notes
Albariño has always been one of my favorite wines to make from the Coyote Canyon Vineyard. Grown in one of the warmer sites of the Horse Heaven Hills AVA, the flavors have a nice combination of tropical and citrus flavors.
This is mainly from our 2006 plantings, the first in WA state, and a touch of our 2011 block. The older vines have a little more acidity and complexity. The grapes were machined harvested in mid September and fermented in our Dolia shaped concrete tank.
