2019 H/H Estates GW Smith Malbec
Deep purple/black color. Bright fruit and floral notes, some pleasant oak tones and undertones of spice. Dark fruits, berries, violets and light rose petal notes grace the nose. The tannins give it a nice structure that will soften with age. Drink now thru 2037.

Winemaker Notes
Malbec has such a unique flavor profile and fermentation process it is always a fun wine to make. It is such a tasty grape; I always enjoy heading out to the vineyard to sample this one. It has medium sized berries, and the skins slide right off the pulp when ready to pick. The color is amazing, and the wines have this great blend of fruit and earth.
I love how each vintage is different and unique. 2018 was challenging because we had some early cold weather in October. We tried to let these grapes hang as long as possible. Once the frost came, we picked the next day and were rewarded for our patience.
The wine was fermented for 2 weeks on skins then pressed off into new and used French oak barrels. The wine aged for 22 months and then was filtered and bottled. We only bottled 50 cases of this wine.
