Vineyard Notes
2018 was another magical vintage in Washington. The winter season was mellow, but snowpack was average, so we were ready for spring. The spring season was wet and things were looking great as we headed into the summer. The summer was warm with lots of long sunny days. There were some wildfires in and around WA that did hit our area with some smoke. Luckily we did not see any smoke impacts at our vineyard. We picked our Cabernet Vines in mid to late October. The red wines from this vintage are already tasting great and should age well for years to come.
Winemaker Notes
We sourced the fruit for this blend from three of our favorite blocks of Cabernet in the vineyard. The grapes were harvested at optimal ripeness levels, all mid to late October. We fermented in macro bins and a concrete tank. After fermentation the wines were transferred to new and used French Oak barrels. After aging for 18 months the final blend was made, the wine was filtered and bottled. This wine will hit its stride in year 5 or 6 and continue to age well for over a decade.
