The color is dark black to red. Flavors start off with soft tannins, sweet red fruits, mild blackberry. These dynamic flavors continue with white pepper and oak. The body is medium to full-bodied with a velvet finish.
2015 was the warmest vintage in Washington State. The spring was warm and wet, which set up the crop for a great season. The red grapes were picked in early September in order to capture the deepest of flavors. This vintage shows a lot of big fruit characteristics.
I love the diversity of a Washington Syrah. It has great color, vibrant aromas, and deeply intense flavors. It works well as a blending component, but also stands alone. We have been evolving our techniques with this grape. It has great intensity and structure.
