Tasting Notes
This exciting, fresh, Spanish grape is a rare variety in Washington State. Coyote Canyon Vineyard was the first in the state to plant Albariño, and our winery is one of only a handful privileged to work with it. This wine has wonderful citrus and tropical aromas mixed with apple and mild baking yeast. Star fruit flavors and more apple are complemented with a nice creamy finish.

Winemaker Notes
2015 was a hot season which meant we had to pick this Albariño early. In order to pick with high acidity, we picked the portion of Albariño for our Sparkling wine three weeks before our regular Albariño. The fruit had more acid which showed more citrus notes compared to when we typically pick the grapes. Once primary fermentation was complete we put the wine into bottles and started the aging process. It took about 6 months to come around in bottle and then the fun began. We played around with different residual sugar amounts and decided to go with a little less than the 2014 version. The final residual sugar was 7.5g/l, about .75%, witch added enough sweetness to complement the high acid. I hope you enjoying drinking this as much as I do.
