Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This exciting, fresh, Spanish grape is a rare variety in Washington State. Coyote Canyon Vineyard was the first in the state to plant Albariño, and our winery is one of only a handful privileged to work with it. This wine has wonderful citrus, mild lime, and tropical aromas that are very expressive. Flavors of star fruit, ripe grapefruit and apple are complemented with a nice creamy finish. Not too dry and not too sweet this is a great example of warmer climate Albariño from the Horse Heaven Hills AVA in Washington State

Winemaker Notes
2014 was another hot season which meant we had to be ready to pick this Albariño early. This was my second vintage working at Coyote and I wanted to pick the Albariño a little earlier than last year to drive the alcohol down and produce a more balanced wine. This wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and then racked off its lees after primary fermentation. To maintain a crisp finish, the wine does not go through malolactic fermentation. A little residual sugar is left in the wine to add a little more richness and mouth feel. This is a refreshing wine that drinks well on its own or pairs nicely with lighter dishes.
