Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Peach skin, honeysuckle and almond aromas are some of the smells coming out of this wine. A medium body wine with great balance and length it starts off tasting mildly fruity and then transitions more to a mineral style of wine. This wine pairs nicely with shellfish, oysters on the half shell are great or a mussel linguini with white wine sauce.

2013 was a great grape growing season in WA State. The Horse Heaven Hills AVA was above its long term average for GDD by 150 units. With warm temperatures throughout the summer it seemed like an early harvest was inevitable but a cool September helped grapes develop flavors while slowing down ripening to make for a great harvest. One of the first grapes that we ended up picking in 2013 was the Viognier and it was a great way to kick off the harvest.
Winemaker Notes
Viognier is a great white varietal for our vineyard, it is able to handle the heat well enough to develop great flavors and still hold onto its acidity. Like all of the white wines we make at Coyote Canyon the grapes were all handpicked and then whole cluster pressed into a stainless steel tank. After a cool fermentation the wine was left on its lees for several months and stirred regularly to add body to the finished wine and a mild yeast tone. Mostly dry this wine is great in hot weather and pairs nicely with spicy dishes.
Food Pairing Notes
