Tasting Notes
Pepper and spice isn't this nice. Notes of chocolate and dark berries mix with a dusty oak aroma. Rich flavors of blueberry and violet give way to a silky-smooth finish. The Syrah adds cherry notes and a velvety texture to the wine while the Mourvèdre shines through with its spice and bold flavors.
Winemaker Notes
This wine was made by John Gabriel and blended by Justin Michaud. When putting the blend together it didn't seem like the Mourvèdre would need much to complement it but once a few mock blends were put together it became clear that the Syrah helped round out the wine. The vineyard block of this Mourvèdre has a nice fruit component and is a little softer than some of the other Mourvèdre’s in Washington. The characteristic black pepper is there but in a Suttle way.
