Tasting Notes
This is an exciting Spanish style blend combining the bright fruit and acidity of Tempranillo with the dense richness of Graciano. This wine is elegant, rich, smooth, and has depth and character. This wine is still showing young with some cherry notes and mild chocolate. The finish is rich and evolving with an almost caramel component to it. Pairs nicely with lamb chops.
Winemaker Notes
This is a wine named after our owner, so it is always a wine I want to make that is special. I never made Graciano before working with Coyote Canyon and think it is a great addition to the grapes grown at Coyote Canyon and in Washington State. The wine stands out on its own but making a blend with Tempranillo seems to make a wine that is more approachable and complex. The 2012 vintage was nice in Washington and this wine displays the results.
